12,000 Extra Seats Added to Russian Stadium for Upcoming 2018 World Cup

Video footage taken in Ekaterinburg, Russia, shows the city’s Central Stadium where the Japanese national soccer team will play its first-round match against Senegal during the 2018 FIFA World Cup competition set to kick off on June 14. The capacity of the stadium built in 1957 is being augmented by the construction of temporary bleachers rising up to 45 meters in height to seat 12,000 people, raising the total stadium capacity to 35,000.
