Duke and Duchess of Sussex kick of their South Africa tour

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex kick off their South African royal tour. They visited the Nyanga Township in Cape Town and met with organisers of a Justice Desk initiative, which teaches children about their rights, self-awareness and safety. The Justice Desk is an NGO supported by The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, of which The Duke serves as President and The Duchess as Vice-President. The Duke and Duchess went on to observe the Mbokodo Girls’ Empowerment programme, which provides self-defence classes and female empowerment training to young girls who have suffered major trauma. The project’s motto is, ‘wathint’ abafazi wathint’imbokodo’ (when you strike a women; you strike a rock).
