His measures yesterday, which featured a #3bn fund to prepare for Brexit and a cut in Stamp Duty for first time buyers, seem to have been met with muted approval from his own side. But critics point to the broader problems uncovered in the economic data - including sluggish growth for the next 5 years, stagnant wages and a deficit that will now last decades rather than years.
