Senator Cornyn says Facebook not a neutral platform

Texas Senator John Cornyn says hours before CEO Mark Zuckerberg testifies before Senate committees he doubts that when people access Facebook to trade pictures with family or friends or talk about a recent vacation they realize that data could be acquired by a third party like Cambridge Analytica to target political messaging during an election, that Facebook had historically been a platform for all ideas but has more responsibilities, it is not just a neutral platform. Cornyn says Facebook must defend against false information, foreign government subterfuge, and destructive contact like child pornography and human trafficking, a basic question whether Facebook is responsible for this information and outright falsehoods as foreign governments attempted to meddle in United States elections by sowing discord.
