Dr Martin Luther King (Civil rights campaigner) interview SOT
- It's a very high moment, a great moment in our struggle, the fact that so many people were brutalised at that very point & we can march by that point it means that we are making progress and that we have touched the conscience of a large segment of our nation / All of us feel it is too bad when Federal troops have to be used / There will be no violence from our side and I hope there will be none from anybody / We hope that this will be a peaceful, non-violent demonstration of our determination to register and vote and to end police brutality and all of the other things we've suffered here
