Jim McGovern floor remarks on Yemen crisis

Massachusetts Congressman Jim McGovern supports a resolution expressing the urgent need for a political solution in Yemen, then suffering the fastest growing cholera epidemic and biggest food emergency in the world, where humanitarian aid had been cut off, and humanitarian relief agencies significantly impeded, its main port of food supplies closed by Saudi Arabia and a coalition in the Yemeni Civil War that could rise to the level of war crimes and crimes against humanity. McGovern said it was past time for the House to clearly declare the United States would no longer provide military aid, equipment or munitions to war criminals, that Yemen was one proxy in the religious and political struggle between Sunnis and Shia Iran, contrasting famine in the country with Thanksgiving then one week away in the United States.
