Q - Do you admit to any mistakes?
A - Don't expect me to enumerate them. Everyone makes mistakes or things that you'd do better with hindsight or things that would permitted of a different viewpoint. A - They may, they are entitled to that viewpoint. I haven't found anyone who argued about the principle. Talks about local government finance and where it comes from. Anyone who benefits from local services should pay towards those local services. You go to a property based tax and some of them won't. Decided to make extra help for the Community Charge from the taxpayer

A - If a tax is difficult to collect, the right thing is to see that it collected. talks of other taxes that are difficult to collect. If you have a tax that is right in principle you improve your collection. It was a tax that was right in principle. Now there are some people who will benefit from local services and not pay a penny piece towards them. They will be able to vote in large numbers for increas...
