Congressman Jeffries questions President Trump authority to fire Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York says answering a reporter question at a semiweekly news conference that the Library of Congress was not the library of the executive branch, so there clearly needed to be reforms moving forward, the president probably violated the law when he fired Carla Hayden without cause, which was all made up foolishness, and they certainly planned to look into that, evaluate litigation strongly, and perhaps remove the executive branch from the process once a librarian of Congress was designated.
