Honda Factory Fitted Out To Meet Foreign Demand
Honda Motor Co. fit a group of reporters inside its assembly plant in Yorii, Saitama Prefecture, on March 8 ,2016 to show off how the firm’s popular subcompact model bound for the United States and Europe gets made. The Yorii plant opened in 2013 and produced domestic models of the Fit series. Due to slow domestic demand, however, the firm decided to concentrate its production of local Fit variants into two other plants, freeing the Yorii facility to make the export version for the stronger market abroad. The factory is assembling about 1,000 cars a day.
