Inspiring women that shape iron in Turkey

AYDİN, TURKEY - MARCH 08: Footage showing daily work from ironmongery run by a woman where 2 out 7 workers are women in the early hours of the day in Germencik town of Aydin, Turkey on March 08, 2017. Ayda Arman, the owner of the ironmongery that produces wrought iron says that her husband too is in ironworking business and as she has started to love shaping iron in time she decided to do it as well, adding that she loves the work in the ironmongery where she works as both boss and worker. "To me ironworking should be a female profession rather than male as women are both tidier and more determined." Arman says. She points out that she's happy working with the women as they always come to work on time and they're more studious as well. The mother and daughter workers of the ironmongery say that they're content with their work and they love their boss. Mother Fadime Can (45) says that women can accomplish many different works and that she's happy to work together with her daughter Ozlem Can Pehlivan (24). Pehlivan tells that people are surprised when they learn their job as ironworking which requires physical strength is a tough profession but adds that women can do every work as long as they wish it as much as herself.
