The Leongatha district is one of rich agricultural diversity. This countryside is the heart of South Gippsland in Victoria, and has a tradition of producing the finest dairy products. Farms here are mainly dairy-milk cows with a smaller mix of beef cattle farming and sheep raising. Some agricultural crops such as snow peas, onions and potatoes are also produced in the rich volcanic soil.
