Post-traumatic stress disorder. Thermometer, a worn-out button (conceptual). Mental health awareness. - stock photo
In 2010 when I was officially diagnosed with PTSD with psychotic symptoms like hallucinations and dissociation, the first symptom was high fever that lasted for months. Life-threatening situations, mental abuse and rape can facilitate the appearance of psychotic breaks. Women are two times more likely than men to experience PTSD. My fears were knives and guns, mostly because I was abused for 7 years by a pedophile who was a convicted murderer and who took sexual footage to control me. Every time when I met a new person, I told right away about my illness and how I should not be around a person who has history being abusive towards women. People either respect your wish, or not. Person with PTSD can live healthy life, even for years, but only when they feel safe. Keywords: ptsd, triggers, re-traumatization, psychosis
