Pink Everlasting flowers in the Drakensberg - stock photo

Helichrysum flowers are a hardy herbaceous genus of flowering plant found throughout the Drakensberg. There tough wooly covered leaves and paper like petals enable the plant to withstand extremes in temperature and weather conditions. As a result they are found at in the highest parts of hte Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa and are able to withstand freezing winters as well as dry summers and periodic grass fires.
