Molyvos (ancient Mithymna) is located at the northern tip of the island of Lesbos and is considered one of the most picturesque destinations in Greece.Its houses, built amphitheatrically on a hillside, facing the "north" of the Aegean, combine the robustness of the stone folk houses with the neoclassical elegance or Venetian influences of mansions and public buildings - all evenly covered with red tiled roofs - and provide a unique graphic set, completely different from the Cycladic style.The Greek Ministry of Culture has rightly declared Molivos as a protected traditional settlement with very strict building rules.If we add to this all the wonderful, well-preserved Byzantine castle that "crowns" the settlement and the hurried waters of the small harbor, which mirror and double this beauty, we understand the magic that the happy visitor of the place feels and that there is no one who has visited Molivos and does not want to come back there!
