Designed and built by architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh between 1903 and 1906, it served as a school for the Tradeston district of Glasgow until it closed in 1979. It reopened as a museum of school education in Scotland, as well as one of the most popular showpieces of Mackintosh's architectural work.
