Al Fahidi Historical District (also known as Al Bastakiya) is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai and the last wind tower quarter left on the Arab side of the Gulf. Narrow laneways are lined with traditional houses with walls made of coral and topped by wind towers. The wind towers catch the wind and provides natural ventilation. A lot of the houses have been converted into cafés, art galleries and little shops.
