BOSNIA-POLITICS-RELIGION-CROSS

View of a memorial cross on mount Trebevic, overlooking Sarajevo on September 22, 2014, after it was tilted and damaged in an attempt to be destroyed, only 24 hours after it waserected. Bosnian Serbs from Eastern part of Sarajevo erected the cross commemorating their victims in Bosnia's 1992-95 war. The initiative for raising such monument was promoted earlier this year and was condemned both by Bosnian Muslims and Croats living in Sarajevo as well as by some International community representatives in Bosnia. The cross itself was built on a location that was notorious during the war as one of most dangerous sniper positions that was used by Bosnian Serbs and taking toll in victims among citizens of Sarajevo on daily basis.
