(Original Caption) 10/21/1968-Mexico City: Three American accept the gold, silver and bronze medals October 21st for victoru in men's 100-meter butterfly stroke event. The olympic swimmers are Douglas Russell (c), who took the gold and equalled the Olympic record with a time of 55.9 seconds; Mark Spitz(l), who took the silver in 56.4 seconds; and Ross Walles (r), who won the bronze in 57.2 seconds. Spitz holds the record for the event with a time of 55.6 seconds attained in a previous competition.
