Sections Of The Uterus & Vagina

The Uterus is a hollow viscus which has thick muscular walls and projcts upward from the vagina into the female pelvic cavity between the rectum and bladder, 1903. From 'Surgical Anatomy: The Treatise of the Human Anatomy and Its Applications to the Practice of Medicine and Surgery, Volume III' (1903). The body of the uterus has the form of a truncated cone whose apex is at the isthmus. The Vagina is a hollow tube which extends from the vulva to the cervix uteri. Is axis forms a curve whose concavity is directed forward. (Photo by VintageMedStock/Getty Images)
