Gordon Howe Seated on Floor With Records
(Original Caption) Setting the pace for the most valuable player award in the National Hockey League is Detroit's hard-skating, rough-checking right winger, Gordon Howe, the loop's 22-year-old comeback kid, the "take charge" man for the league-leading Red Wings. On the brink of death after a bad spill in the Stanley Cup playoffs last spring, Gordie is leading all the puck-chasers in scoring with 65 points. A bachelor, he lives with teammates Ted Lindsay, the Wings' great center, in Detroit. Here, Howe, an ardent music fan, relaxes in the Lindsay home amid his large collection of records.
