(Original Caption) 10/13/1942- San Diego, CA- With the white star of the American Air Force replacing the red disk of Japan, this captured Zero fighter plane is being put through its paces by Lt. Commander E.R.Sanders at the Naval Air Station in San Diego, CA. The plane was shot down in the Aleutians virtually undamaged and was repaired after being shipped to San Diego. The fighter is reputedly at its best in dogfight turns.
