InterDrone Conference For Commercial Drones Held In Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV - SEPTEMBER 07: A prototype PRODRONE PD6B-AW-ARM "Droria" drone with arms is displayed at InterDrone, an international drone conference and exposition for commercial drones, at the Paris Las Vegas on September 7, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The large-format drone has a maximum payload of 44 pounds and has two five-axis robotic arms that allow the unit to accomplish numerous types of tasks including those that would be too dangerous for a person to do. The conference runs through September 9 and is expected to feature 160 exhibitors showing off their latest products and services to more than 4,000 attendees. The Federal Aviation Administration's Part 107 regulations to operate small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) or drones, went into effect in August allowing operators of commercial drones weighing more than .55 pounds and less than 55 pounds to obtain a remote pilot certificate after passing a FAA knowledge exam.
