A project named "Schlagende Wetter und Wagner, Glueckauf" by German artists M+M and Silke Wagner is seen on August 12, 2010 in Herne in the western German Emscher region. On the occasion of the European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010, the Emscher Island becomes one of its key art projects. A non-stop 70 kilometre long island path is created, reuniting the existing cycle- and footpaths and offering eight exhibition spaces along the Emscher Island. Sculptures are integrated in the most unusual spaces such as watergates, former industrial plants or urban brownfields and become the stage of the Emscher Art 2010.
