Oranges hang from a branch in the Indian village of Latpanchar some 40kms north from Siliguri on December 8, 2012. Latpanchar plantation was established in 1943 with a focus upon delivery of natural Quinine from the Cinchona medicine plants. During the subsequent decades, the plantation also diversified into a variety of crops like Cinchona, Ipecac and Mandarin Orange, which also drew major revenue for the region.
