(Original Caption) 3/6/1969- Manned Spacecraft Center, Houston, Texas: An excellent view of the docked Apollo 9 Command/Service Module and the Lunar Module, "Spider," with Earth in the background during astronaut David R. Scott's extravehicular activity on the fourth day of Apollo 9's Earth orbit mission. Scott, Command Module pilot, is standing in the open hatch of the Command Module, "Gumdrop." Astronaut Russell L. Schweickart, Lunar Module pilot, took this photograph of Scott from the porch of the "Spider." Inside the "Spider" was astronaut James A. McDivitt, Apollo 9 commander. The land area in the center of the picture is the Mississippi Valley.
