Residents Enjoy The 8th China National Public Ice & Snow Season In Wuhan
WUHAN, CHINA - DECEMBER 21: (CHINA OUT) Local residents visit an ice sculpture during an ice and snow art festival in Wuhan Optical Valley Tennis Center on December 21, 2021 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. With just over a month before the Beijing Winter Olympics, the launching ceremony of the 8th National Public Ice and Snow Season was held in Wuhan and the central Chinese region for the first time. As a vital part of the largest ice and snow event in China before the Beijing Winter Olympics, an ice and snow art festival covering an area of nearly 1,000 square meters kicked off in Wuhan on Tuesday. A temporary indoor ice and snow sculpture exhibition, made by 400 tons of ice and 50 tons of snow, was open to the public and will last until January 3, 2022. Besides the sculptures of Wuhan’s landmarks, Winter Olympics mascots and cute animals, entertainment facilities such as ice slides and bumper cars on ice bring citizens in southern part of China even closer to experience the joy of ice and snow.
