Simchat Torah celebration in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel
Israel, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Kikar Rabin - 12th October 2017 - orthodox and secular Jews celebrate Simchat Torah - the Jewish holiday that celebrates and marks the conclusion of the annual cycle of reading of the Torah - old testament, and the beginning of a new cycle. Simchat Torah is a component of the Biblical Jewish holiday of Shemini Atzeret (Eighth Day of Assembly), which follows immediately after the festival of Sukkot in the month of Tishrei (occurring in mid-September to early October on the Gregorian calendar). People dance with torah rolls - which happens only once a year. Amongst other cities the festival is also celebrated as a national holiday and Israeli flags are part of the celebration. The festival is celebrated by men and woman alike and is one of the most festive period of the year and very popular for kids . (Photo by Michael Jacobs/Art in All of Us/Corbis via Getty Images)
