CORRECTION-HONG KONG-CHINA-BRITAIN-POLITICS-RIOTS-ANNIVERSARY

CORRECTION - In this photo taken with a slow shutter speed on April 21, 2017, former police inspector James Elms, 75, stands near the old Metropole Hotel building, as he holds a photo (C) showing the hotel roof on which he landed upon in a helicopter while deployed during a mission to deal with rioters in May 1967 and two other photos of Elms while he was on duty during the riots in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is unrecognisable now from the city which 50 years ago was the scene of bloody riots, fuelled by resentment of colonial rule and inspired by the Cultural Revolution unfolding in China. But although memories of the bomb-strewn chaos of 1967 have faded, the city is facing a new era of turbulence as democracy activists take on Beijing and many ordinary residents still struggle to make ends meet. / AFP PHOTO / Anthony WALLACE / TO GO WITH Hong Kong-China-Britain-politics-riots-anniversary, FOCUS by Elaine YU / The erroneous mention[s] appearing in the metadata of this photo by Anthony WALLACE has been modified in AFP systems in the following manner: [April 21] instead of [May 21].
