In this photo taken in Hong Kong on May 10, 2017, Chinese medicine shop owner Tan Kin Hua, 72, holds a board upon which he wrote Chinese characters to sum up his hopes for Hong Kong over the next 20 years. Tan Kin Hua, posing in the doorway of his shop, wrote 'Prosperity'. Divided by age, wealth and politics, the people of Hong Kong will mark the 20th anniversary of its transfer from Britain back to China with contrasting emotions: anger and pessimism, pride and celebration. The semi-autonomous city still enjoys freedoms unseen on the mainland. But in recent years there has been increasing unrest, with massive rallies for democratic reform and the emergence of an independence movement in the face of a meddling Beijing.  / AFP PHOTO / Anthony WALLACE / TO GO WITH: Hong Kong-China-Britain-politics-social-culture-people by Elaine YU, Aaron TAM (Photo credit should read ANTHONY WALLACE/AFP via Getty Images)
