Christiaan Cornelis is standing on a ship. He has his left arm in a sling, in his other a sword. Cornelis recaptured a cof ship captured by the French on which he had served as a sailor on July 31, 1794. After Cornelis returned the ship he was rewarded with a silver tobacco box by Admiral van Kinsbergen.
