People Disembarking from Airplane

(Original Caption) Berlin Orchestra Here for Tour. Queens, New York, New York: The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, center of a controversy over old Nazi Party memberships of its manager and conductor, arrived at Idlewild Airport today without incident. Here's the first of two chartered planes with 50 members of the orchestra shortly after it arrived. Local 802 of the AFL musicians protested the visit and union boss James C. Petrillo today sent a wire to State Secretary John Foster Dulles to "clarify" the orchestra's acceptability. The local's protest was aimed specifically at Dr. Gerhart von Westerman, manager, and Herbert von Karajan, conductor. Their first concert is scheduled for Sunday in Washington, D.C.
