Portrait of Antigone Constanda
(Original Caption) Auburn haired Antigone Constanda of Egypt beat out leading beauties of 16 countries for the title of "Miss World, 1954." Miss Constanda wept a few joyful tears into a great silver victory bowl after a panel of American and British judges proclaimed the dark-eyed Miss Egypt, "the most beautiful girl in the world." She received $1,400 in cash and will be given a chance at a film career. The runner-up in the international beauty contest was America's Karin Hultman, 22, of Rochester, N.Y.
