Athletes compete in the Olympics men's 100m final, on October 14, 1968 in Mexico City, at the Mexico Olympic Games. Athletes are French Roger Bambuck (5th), U.S Mel Pender (6th), Jamaican Lennox Miller (2nd-silver), U.S Jim Hines (1st-gold), Cuban Casanova Montes (4th) and U.S Charles Greene (3rd-bronze). Hines was the first man who ran the 100m under 10" with a time of 9,95, world record that he retained for 15 years. He won also the gold of the1968 Mexico Olympics 4x100m event.
