A Blakiston's fish owl eating captured fish. Wide Shot/Blakiston's fish owl is one of the world's largest owls, growing to a body length of over 70cm and wing span of 180cm. Inhabits the continental Russian Far East, Sakhalin, Hokkaido etc. Development has encroached on its habitat and only 120-130 now live on Hokkaido. An endangered natural treasure.
