Sonya Burke leaves Bury St Edmunds Crown Court in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk after she admitted permitting the supply of cocaine during a party at which one of her friends died. * Sonya, 23, of Hampstead, north west London, the daughter of deputy High Court judge Jeffrey Burke QC, also admitted allowing the smoking of cannabis when she appeared. Sentencing was adjourned to a date to be fixed. 17/5/2001: Sonya Burke, daughter of deputy High Court judge Jeffrey Burke, who held a party in May 2000 for her 23rd birthday at which Adam Brownlow, 23, died from a drugs overdose. Damien Abass, 27, of Wandsworth, south London, was cleared of supplying cocaine at the party at Dagworth, near Stowmarket, Suffolk, after a jury at Basildon Crown Court, Essex, failed to reach a verdict. The jury yesterday convicted Abass by a majority verdict of supplying LSD to Mr Brownlow at the party.
