GRANADA HILLS, CA November 15, 2008 Katrina Vieane(cq) hugs her 4yearold daughter Briana Burgeno at a temporary shelter set up for evacuated residents at John F. Kennedy High School in Granada Hills. Vieane and her family live in the Oakridge mobile home park where nearly every residence was destroyed. Vieane believes that her home may be safe as it was in the upper corner of the park which news reports said was the only area spared. A massive fire spread throughout the northern San Fernando Valley, leaping the 5 and 210 freeways and forcing thousands to evacuate. Sylmar and Granada Hills were both in the path of the blaze and dozens of homes have been lost. (Photo by Michael Robinson Chavez/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images)
